Lemon Rose Spritzer

It’s been hot as ever the last week so what better time to share my favorite summer drink recipe with you guys! This drink can be made as a cocktail or a mocktail so everyone can get in on the fun. It’s also super quick and easy to make!

I haven’t talked about this on my blog but I actually suffer from chronic daily migraines and it makes drinking alcohol basically impossible. I’ve been waiting for the right time to fully go into that on my blog as its such a controlling factor of my life but I’m sure I will tell you guys all about it one day. Until then, I wanted to share a recipe with you that can make those who can’t really have alcohol (like me) feel included and also get to enjoy an equally yummy drink to sip on at gatherings or get-togethers.

Although I never really drink alcohol, if I did want to have a couple sips, this recipe would be the least harmful because it only uses vodka. Clear alcohol is basically the safest alcohol for migraine sufferers (dark liquor and wine are the worst!) and it can be difficult to find a mixed drink or spritzer that includes only clear alcohol. This recipe only uses vodka as its alcohol, theres no rosé, dark liquor or champagne so its pretty migraine friendly!

If you want to make this drink non-alcoholic simply omit the vodka!

Summer Lemon Rose Spritzer

Ingredients:

• 4 oz Trader Joe’s Sparkling Pink Lemonade
• 1 shot of vodka
• 1 tsp rose water
• 1 orange (for juice and garnish)
• rose buds (for decoration only)

Directions:

Fill your glass with the pink lemonade and add in the shot of vodka. Add your 1 tsp of rose water. Next squeeze about a quarter of the orange into the glass. Mix it all together. Next cut a slice of the orange and place on the rim of glass, and put rosebud in drink. Enjoy!
